Rare military road map dated 1813, in the midst of the Napoleonic campaign. This handwritten document was used for the logistics of moving a soldier or a detachment of troops. It is an authentic administrative witness to the functioning of the imperial army under Napoleon I.

Modern frame: 45x31 cm.
Good condition for its age – some creasing and wear consistent with use.
The year 1813 marks the period of the Sixth Coalition, following the disastrous Russian campaign. The French army reorganized its forces by forced march. This type of document allowed soldiers and officers to travel legally, with details of lodging locations and authorized time limits.
