Superb fireman's sword, model 1855, emblematic of the municipal companies of the Second Empire.
Used both as a ceremonial weapon and a tool of prestige, this sword is recognizable by its 26-groove brass handle and its wide, straight, double-fullered blade.
Markings:
Klingenthal on one side of the blade.
Coulaux A & C on the other, a renowned manufacturer from Solingen & Klingenthal.
