Discover an authentic French infantry sword model 1831, a rare piece, sold as is, without scabbard or visible markings.
This regular sword, soon to be bicentennial, took its place alongside the infantry under the July Monarchy. (Louis-Philippe I).
Historical field witness, reflecting real campaign conditions and military use.

Total length: 63 cm.

Blade: 48 cm, straight, double-edged with a diamond-shaped section ending in a carp's tongue.

Handle: 26-groove brass.
Without frills, it bears witness to the use and life in the countryside.

Raw condition: without sheath or markings - perfect in its original condition for demanding collectors.
Adopted in 1831 to replace the lighter sabre, this weapon nicknamed "cutthroat razor" served more as a functional tool (4,000 blows on wood without flinching, according to the specifications) rather than as a parade weapon.
It remained in service until the end of the Second Empire, equipped in particular by the infantry, the National Guard and the Foreign Legion.
