An authentic example of a Model 1822 Tbis cavalry pistol, reassembled and reconditioned in an arsenal using parts from different batches. This practice, common in the 19th century, aimed to extend the life of weapons in service by recycling usable parts into coherent and functional assemblies.
On this copy we can see crossed-out markings, as well as a new inventory number, typical of the regulatory reconditioning carried out under the July Monarchy, the Second Empire or the Third Republic.
Robust and simple in construction, it was intended for the armament of heavy cavalry (cuirassiers, dragoons, carabiniers) during the second half of the 19th century.
