Superb Swiss bayonet model 1889, intended for the Schmidt-Rubin 1889 rifle, emblematic of Swiss weaponry at the end of the 19th century.
This example is distinguished by a particularly interesting marking on the blade: "Elsewer Schwyz", a reference to the canton of Schwyz, the historical heart of the Swiss Confederation.
An ideal piece for collectors wanting an authentic and well-marked model.
Adopted to accompany the Schmidt-Rubin 1889 rifle, this bayonet is among the first generations of Swiss regulation equipment using the straight breech system developed by Rudolf Schmidt.
Produced in several Swiss factories, it is distinguished by its robustness and the legendary quality of Swiss steel.
The "Elsewer Schwyz" marking reinforces the historical interest of the piece: Schwyz is one of the founding cantons of Switzerland, known for its armament and military metallurgy workshops.
