The ensemble is distinguished by an exceptional wealth of markings and acceptance proof marks. The back of the blade successively bears the imperial markings crowned W / 09, crowned RC, and crowned B.
Multiple crowned B proof marks, sometimes double-struck, are also present on the guard, grip tang, screws, and retaining screws, as well as on various metallic elements, attesting to remarkable homogeneity and authentic imperial military acceptance.
Only the locking spring is missing, without detracting from the historical interest or the overall presentation quality of this particularly sought-after piece.
A highly sought-after item by collectors of WW1 German bayonets. The saw-back versions are much rarer than standard models.
