Authentic French Model 1886-15 sword-bayonet, better known as "Rosalie", this regulation weapon is inseparable from the Lebel Model 1886 M93 rifle used by the French army during the First World War.
This example is the 1886-15 version, recognizable by its crossguard without quillon, a modification adopted at the beginning of the Great War to simplify manufacturing and improve the use of the weapon on the battlefield.

Due to industrial imperatives in 1915, manufacturing was simplified with the removal of the quillon and the use of less expensive materials like brass for the handles. This variant, officially designated Model 1886-15, was widely issued to French troops until the end of the conflict.
