Cavalry pistol model Year XIII – France 1812
Regulation cavalry pistol, model An XIII, dated 1812, used under the First Empire of Napoleon I. This emblematic model equipped the mounted units of the imperial army such as cuirassiers, dragoons and horse hunters.
Manufactured to contemporary standards, it features a smooth iron barrel and a flintlock system, still in place. The stock is made of walnut with brass fittings. The weapon bears the receipt hallmarks as well as the typical markings of imperial factories.

Historical context:
The An XIII pistol is a direct evolution of the An IX model, designed to accompany cavalrymen in Napoleonic campaigns. It was widely produced between 1806 and 1814, and its use continued during the Restoration. Dating from 1812, this specimen could have been in service during the Russian campaign or in the last battles of the Empire.
