A civilian version of the famous French standard revolver, this Chamelot-Delvigne model 1874 is an emblematic piece of weaponry from the Third Republic.

This model, here in its polished version (instead of the original tan), retains all the robust mechanics and the recognizable silhouette of regulation weapons, while displaying a particular shine specific to certain civilian or personalized weapons.

An iconic revolver.

Adopted by the French army in 1873 for non-commissioned officers (model 1873) then for officers in 1874, the Chamelot-Delvigne revolver equipped the French forces until the beginning of the 20th century, surviving colonial conflicts and even the First World War.

Its 11mm73 caliber black powder, its reliability and its simplicity of operation have made it a weapon appreciated by both the military and civilians.
Many models were produced by private manufacturers for the civilian market, such as this one.
