Genuine lighter saber model An XI, used by the infantrymen of the Grande Armée under the First Empire.
Replacing the An IX model, it was manufactured from 1803 and standardized for line troops.
Its name "lighter" comes from the characteristic shape of its brass handle, reminiscent of a flint lighter.
An emblematic piece of the Napoleonic campaigns, this saber is a must-have for fans of French military history.

Blade: Curved, flat-backed, single-edged, with remaining markings.
Handle: One-piece brass, 28 grooves.
Guard: A brass guard branch, integrated into the handle.
Brass mount, single-branch guard hallmarked Versailles.
Scabbard: Leather with two brass fittings.
Condition: Even patina, wear from use.
Standardized in the year XI (1803), this saber was produced in thousands of copies to equip infantry soldiers. It was used during the Napoleonic campaigns, notably in Spain, Prussia, Austria and Russia.
