A classic from the Great War, revisited with camouflage inspired by the famous regulation pattern of 1918.
This Model 16, produced in steel to withstand the brutal conditions of the trenches, is here covered with a "turtle" camouflage applied later, probably for reconstruction purposes.
A fine example of the link between historical memory and collecting culture: although it is not a period painting, this helmet retains all the strength of its iconic design.
