Superb original World War I poster illustrated by Francisque Poulbot, published by the prestigious Parisian house Devambez, famous for the artistic quality of its patriotic and propaganda poster prints.

Francisque Poulbot (1879-1946), an emblematic illustrator of Montmartre, is particularly known for his depictions of Parisian children — the famous "Poulbots." During the Great War, he put his talent to the service of national mobilization by creating several posters aimed at supporting the war effort and financial campaigns.

His prolific production of patriotic posters and postcards during the First World War led him to be placed under house arrest during the German occupation of the Second World War.

Printed by Devambez, a leading printer-publisher in the early 20th century, this piece is part of the tradition of great French illustrated posters, now sought after by collectors of militaria, graphic art, and history.
