This Adrian Model 1915 helmet shell features a commemorative artistic painting dedicated to French aviator Charles Nungesser (1892-1927), one of the greatest aces of the First World War.
The painting pays homage to his heroic destiny and features his personal emblem: a black heart with a skull, coffin and torches, a symbol of bravery and defiance, which adorned his planes during the war.
