Discover an authentic French infantry sword model 1831, a rare piece, sold as is, without a scabbard or visible markings.

This regular sword, soon to be two hundred years old, took its place alongside the infantrymen during the July Monarchy (Louis-Philippe I).

Historical field evidence, reflecting the actual conditions of campaigning and military use.

Model: Infantry sword, model 1831.

Total length: 63 cm.

Blade: 48 cm, straight, double-edged with a lozenge-shaped cross-section ending in a carp's tongue.

Handle: brass with 26 grooves.

Without embellishment, it bears witness to the use and life in the countryside.

Raw condition: without sheath, nor markings — perfect as is for discerning collectors.

Adopted in 1831 to replace the briquet sword, this weapon nicknamed "cutter-cut" served more as a functional tool (4,000 blows on wood without faltering, according to the specifications) than as a parade weapon.

It remained in service until the end of the Second Empire, equipped in particular by the infantry, the National Guard and the Foreign Legion.
