Authentic magazine pouch in original American khaki canvas for the Colt 1911 / 1911A1 (.45 ACP) pistol, reused by the French army after World War II.
This double pocket model allows for the transport of two 7-round magazines. Very common within French units (especially in Indochina and Algeria), where many US equipment items were adopted after the D-Day landings and the Marshall Plan.
It was modified by the French army with the addition of a metal ring at the back for a fixing compatible with the French webbing (standard equipment from the 1950s-1960s).
